The proposed category
Sargo’s proposed Kenya service is a payment gateway: it arranges a payment between an identified consumer and a registered merchant. Sargo intends to seek confirmation of the Virtual Asset Payment Processor classification. An intended classification, application or discussion with a regulator is not a licence or an assurance of approval.
Before a regulated service is activated, the Service Details must identify the Kenya provider, relevant authority, permission, permitted scope and effective date. See section 1 of the Terms.
Current availability
This website lets you read about the proposed service and send a merchant-interest enquiry. An enquiry does not create an account, activate merchant status or authorise an order.
For an existing account, order or funds, contact support@sargo.io. We will state the applicable eligibility and availability before regulated services are enabled.
Escrow controls
The proposed production model uses an order-specific escrow governed by the disclosed contract and order rules. Before funding an order, review its escrow rules and any controls that apply. Read the escrow and control terms. Our guides explain how escrow works and what to do when an order goes wrong.
Data protection
The Privacy Policy describes the Kenya and UK data-protection requirements that apply to the relevant processing, as well as biometric consent, bank-session processing, complaint routes and retention. Specified regulated records may require seven-year retention; that does not mean all data is kept for seven years.
The service-specific Privacy Details must identify the relevant controller and applicable ODPC registration information before activation. The payment-proof guide explains the evidence and bank-session process. Read the Privacy Policy for the complete terms.
